Our government has essentially given up on them, with the State Department saying there is nothing that can be done for them. And of course Iran says they are spies, and in Iran the "penalty" for spies is death. So what can be done? Appeals to Iran by thousands of people signing a petition for mercy to Iran has been met with contempt. We now want to launch an unending telephone call campaign to the Iranian Mission to the United Nations in New York. We want the Iranians to only hear about the hikers until they see no point in holding them hostage any longer. The phone number to the Iran Mission is 212-687-2020.
