The Raiders had a big weekend at the Individual Sections on Saturday, qualifying 6 guys for State. Matt Steffenson was the lone champion for the team, winning the 140 pound class. Dustin Bretzman, Ryan Lovaas, Nick Wilkes, and Rob Martin each took second to gain a berth into state. Paul Osterman had to wrestle a tough true second match to gain the trip to the cities. Nick Norberg and Justin Jones each were a match away from state, but had to settle for third. Tyler Walters wrestled well at a tough weight class and placed 5th while Geoff Springer and Tom Estrem each took 6th.

Your Onamia Panthers Boys Basketball team played well, but came up short verse a talented Hinckley/Finalyson team 64-52. The game was definitely closer than the score indicates. Jon Helle led the team in scoring with 18 points, Alex Kunesh scored 10 points, and John Stenback played tough defense.

Next game is in the first round of the playoffs on Monday at Isle. Game time is 7:30.

Girls basketball won their first sub-section game last night beating Maranatha 43-31, Shanna Burr lead the scoring with 20 points. Good job, Girls. We want everyone to come cheer the girls on Thursday night at 7:30 here at Onamia when the girls take on the Ogilvie Lions.
