The signs of autumn are apparent while I am walking on Lakeshore Boulevard in Onamia, Minnesota. Geese fly near the water, making a splashing sound as they land, and insects buzz in the grass.
The trees color
the scene with yellow, green and red leaves and the leaves rustle as
they blow in the wind. The leaves make a crunching sound when stepped
on. A bonfire of leaves burns nearby. The scent of burning drifts
through air. One can also smell the dryness of the leaves that have
fallen from the trees.
Other people are out enjoying the fall day. Some people are having a picnic in the park nearby. One can hear and see the enjoyment of kids playing in the tennis court, hitting the ball back and forth. A few of the kids screamed with excitement while going down the slide. The enjoyment is not limited to the park. Some people pass by walking, while others pass by on bikes. There are a couple people that are canoeing on the lake.
The
blue autumn sky changes to gray as the clouds pass by. A sprinkle of
rain comes down and the sky starts to clear up. Before night comes,
the sunset reflects on the lake. At night a crescent moon can be
seen in the sky.
It is a nice peaceful scene, even though once in a while a car passes by, or a dog barks. The sounds interrupt the splashing of the geese and the leaves rustling. The barking and the cars passing do not last for long, so the autumn walk can be enjoyed.
