We are again celebrating National Farmers' Market Week August 1-7, 2010 as a way to promote the production and consumption of locally and sustainably raised products of farms in Mille Lacs County. The Onamia Area Farmers' Market meets every Friday, 3-7 pm just north of the Hwy 169 overpass at Onamia, the Isle Farmers' Market meets downtown Isle on Saturdays 10 AM- 1 PM.

5K Run/Walk

The 5k Run/Walk and Silent Auction/Bake Sale will be held on August 7th,2010 @

9 a.m. @ Onamia High School in Onamia, MN

The Milaca Gateway to the Northland Parade will be held on June 17th, starting at 6 P.M. The theme for this year's parade is "Super Heroes" If you are interested in participating in the parade, please fill out the attached registration or contact Becky Bergstrom at the Milaca Chamber of Commerce Office at 320-983-3140 or email her at chamber@milacacity.com.

Minnesota State Parks have an open house Saturday, no vehicle permit required to enter that day.

Some parks also have additional activities going on.

Onamia High School will have its graduation Jun 4 2010 7pm in the Onamia High School Gym. Photos and Video will be taken by Nate's Computer Services and will be available on this site to view or purchase.

Road work on Minnesota State Highway 27 from Onamia to Highway 25 starts Monday May 10

Have you ever sat in a movie, concert, or play that you really enjoyed but it lasted a little too long and your mind started to wander or your eyes started to close for a short siesta? I am sure that you have. Imagine sitting in a class that you are trying to pay attention to but it is longer than usual. Do you think there is a chance that you won’t stay focused and the extra time will become background noise? This will be one of the many struggles that our students will face in a 4 day week.

The Mille Lacs Raiders, a cooperative of Onamia and Isle Schools, is going to the Minnesota State High School Wrestling Tournament as a team for the first time.

They won the 7A sections in Ogilvie. Wrestled Against Aitkin and Royalton /Swanville.

They will wrestle against Frazee for their first match on March 4th Starting at 9:30 am at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
