Brainerd MN

Brainerd Minnesota Lakes area is a regional shopping, industrial, and tourism center. There are many nearby resorts that take advantage of the many nearby lakes including Gull Lake. The Mississippi River flows right through Brainerd with five road/highway bridges and one railroad bridge crossing it. There is also the Paul Bunyan Trail, a bowling alley in Brainerd, Movie theater in Baxter, Amusement Parks in area. Brainerd is also home to one of the Central Lakes College campuses. Shoulder, lane closures on Highway 169 near Mille Lacs Lake begin May 2

BAXTER, Minn. — Motorists on Highway 169 between Onamia and Vineland may encounter delays when lanes and shoulders are closed during non-rush hours Monday, May 2 through mid-July.

Current information on statewide fire danger and burning restrictions is available online.
Many areas have additional local restrictions.

April 15 2016 much of the state had high to very high fire danger. Southwest Minnesota was considered extremely high.

A new large Washington Street (also is Highway 210) sign on the traffic signal was put up in Brainerd at the North 4th Street intersection on April 5 2016.
